Love the 11-50 set on my guitar I have in D standard, but I’m on my hands and knees pleading for an 11-58 or even 12-60 set for C standard. The 11-50 set is 12/10 stars though, coming from someone that used to use stringjoy and nyxl’s for years.
The extra brightness combined with the extra output is a godsend for heavier music. The brightness helps retain detail on high gain tones, and the output gives my amp the extra push for helping push the front of my amp or distortion pedals a bit harder.
one thing that I do notice, is that it’s not just a flat out higher output. They seem more dynamic than regular nickel plated hex core strings. There’s more range between playing lighter and harder with them.
can’t recommend enough, just please make heavier sets! Soundwise they are perfect for downtuning, there just needs to be heavier gauges to do so.
I worked in a guitar store for 45 years and these Progressives are my absolute favorites. Great twang on the bass strings, extraordinary life, and nice feel too.
