Chance Hurley, a Pennsylvania native, has been playing music since the young age of 10 years old. Starting out playing metal music, he eventually found his way to blues, rock, and old country with idols such as Mark Knopfler, Chet Atkins, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. After playing the local circuit at a young age he began to look for something new. His hero`s influences directed him straight to Earl Scruggs and the sound of bluegrass music. Once flatpicking became his new found love, the music then lead him to the likes of Sam Bush and Chris Thile. Soon after, he found himself playing the mandolin on stage and in studio with his current bluegrass band; Mountain Ride.
